Lorraine

Lorraine is a visual and textile artist. In her 27 years exploring textile art in many forms, she has enjoyed creating patterns in many ways.

She has developed a passion for exploring the relationship between different colour palettes and textures.

Painting, drawing and sculpture are currently favourite areas of exploration in the visual arts.

Lorraine loves art that tells a story. She is currently undertaking a Diploma of Visual Arts.

Her work is exhibited at Jezzine Art Gallery Qld (Townsville Art Society gallery), and is also for sale at Hinchinbrook Gallery (Ingham, Qld).

She looks forward to creating fabric and textile collections for patchwork and other purposes, as well as licensing her artworks as surface design.

Teacher and Class Designer

With 10 years experience as a high school teacher, and 5 years experience as a patchwork and stitching teacher for adults, Lorraine is both qualified and experienced to organise and teach workshops.

She designs quilts and writes patterns with instructions.

She brings together a variety of materials to create new cohesive designs.

Publications

Lorraine's art quilt "Rainbow Trout" was chosen by Down Under Quilts magazine as one of their 50 best ever published quilts. It travelled in a select exhibition around Australia, along with quilts by renowned "Gee's Bend" quilt collective.
